Zendaya’s Backless Louis Vuitton Vest at CinemaCon 2023

Zendaya’s Backless Louis Vuitton Vest at CinemaCon 2023

Zendaya is redefining business casual one press tour at a time. After recently being named a Louis Vuitton ambassador, the actor attended CinemaCon in a sharp outfit by the brand. While promoting her upcoming movie “Dune: Part II” at the event in Las Vegas on April 25, Zendaya posed for the cameras in a structured vest and tailored pants that made her look like chief fashion officer of the red carpet.

Stepping away from traditional business attire, Zendaya’s outfit consisted of a completely backless vest from Louis Vuitton’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection. The plunging top featured a high-collared neck, a three-button closure down the front, and strips of plaid fabric on either side of her waist to create the illusion of a shirt beneath the piece. Along the waist, the vest also featured belt loops on either side. To hold the top in place, Zendaya slipped her black belt through the loops, effectively connecting the vest to her pants.

Maintaining her laid-back take on traditional business attire, Zendaya let the remainder of the belt strap dangle over the back pockets of her palazzo pants. The tweed bottoms billowed at either side of the knee, creating a futuristic silhouette. The pants also featured deep front pockets and cuffed hems that pooled around her white pointed-toe stilettos. She styled the outfit with metallic bangles, oversize hoop earrings, and a milk-bath manicure that beautifully complemented her heels.

Her costar Timothée Chalamet joined her on the red carpet in leather pants from Helmut Lang’s spring 1998 collection. He styled the vintage pants with a matching vest layered over a white T-shirt and black boots. Between the earthy tones of Zendaya’s outfit and the edginess of Chalamet’s ensemble, the CinemaCon red carpet felt like a sartorial nod to the sci-fi genre.
