Some of the easter eggs you can spot in the poster include the sign showing the three simple rules every ‘cooler’ must follow: “One, expect the unexpected. Two, take it outside. Never start anything inside the bar unless it’s absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.” The rest of them we’ll let you find yourself using the kind of eagle-eye needed to defend the bar from louts and scoundrels. Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) from a screenplay written by Anthony Bagarozzi (The Nice Guys) and Charles Mondry (Doc Savage), Road House stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Elwood Dalton alongside UFC champion fighter Conor McGregor in his first-ever film role. The rest of the cast counts Billy Magnussen (The Many Saints of Newark), Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad), Gbemisola Ikumelo (A League of Their Own), Lukas Gage (Euphoria), Hannah Love Lanier (The Tiny Mighty Club), Travis Van Winkle (You), B.K. Cannon (Why Women Kill), Arturo Castro (The Terminal List), Dominique Columbus (Ray Donovan), Beau Knapp (The Lost Symbol), and Bob Menery (Billions).

Jake Gyllenhaal Worries About Taking Over From Patrick Swayze
Gyllenhaal has previously responded to the thought of taking over from the late, great Patrick Swayze in Road House, with the acclaimed actor admitting they are “big shoes to fill.”
“They’re big shoes to fill, but Patrick was a friend when he was here. He was always so loving and lovely to me. I take that all to heart in playing the role and there are some things I take from him, but generally we made a whole new movie and I’m really excited about it.”
While the original Road House, released back in 1989, was met with mixed reviews, it has since garnered a passionate following thanks to its B-movie charm, gritty fight scenes, and a charismatic performance from Patrick Swayze. Remake director Doug Liman, though, cannot wait to show audiences what he and Jake have done with the franchise in the modern era.
I’m thrilled to put my own spin on the beloved Road House legacy. And I can’t wait to show audiences what Jake and I are going to do with this iconic role.
Road House is scheduled to stream globally on Prime Video starting March 21 in more than 240 territories worldwide. Check out the trailer below:
