Peaky Blinders Season 6 Script Is Amazing Praises Newcomer Conrad Khan

While audiences await the sixth and final return of the Peaky Blinders, newcomer and star of the upcoming sixth series, Conrad Khan, has being doing what he can to further add to the hype. The young actor, whose role in Peaky Blinders proceedings is currently unknown has praised the quality of the script, something which he says was an honor to read.

“The script is amazing. When I had my first audition, I was like ‘This is so cool that I get to read this’, I couldn’t believe it and then when I got the part, it really was a dream come true.”

On joining the beloved show, Conrad Khan spoke of his initial nerves, particularly as the new addition to an already well-established ensemble cast. “I was really nervous sitting in my trailer before I went on set because it’s such a family and so well established,” Khan explained. “I felt like a bit of an outsider coming in right at the end… but the director said that I held my own, so I’m thinking that’s a good sign. I mean, if I do a really bad job then all the fans will hate me!”

Speaking of fans, Khan added that, so far at least, the Peaky Blinders community have been a lot more welcoming than the on-screen gang. “From how they’ve responded to my announcement as one of the new characters, the fans of the show have been really welcoming,” he said.

Khan is far from the only member of the Peaky Blinders cast to talk up the upcoming sixth series, with Sophie Rundle, who plays Shelby sister Ada Thorne, recently declaring that her character is “cooler than ever” in season six, before describing the final season as “all guns blazing”.

“It’s always, you know, really rock and roll. But it’s the last series, [so] everyone’s going to be really going for it.” Rundle said of the final serial adventures of the Shelbys. “It feels exciting and sad. We’re all really pleased that we’re getting to make it and tell more of the story.”

Debuting back in 2013, Peaky Blinders follows Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, the dangerous leader of the Peaky Blinders, a criminal gang based in Birmingham in 1919. The fifth season of the show aired last year on BBC One, and proved to be the most popular season of the show so far bringing in an average of 7 million viewers per episode. Throughout its run, Peaky Blinders has provided audiences with all manner of criminal action and family fallouts, receiving rave reviews for its dark and gritty atmosphere, stellar performances, and gripping story, which manages to blend fictional drama with historical goings-on.

The sixth season of Peaky Blinders is currently in production following several delays caused by the ongoing global situation. New recruit Conrad Khan joins a hugely talented ensemble cast led by Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle and Finn Cole as the top tanking members of the infamous gang. The likes of Tom Hardy, Sam Claflin and Anya Taylor-Joy are all expected to return for season 6, with Boardwalk Empire’s Stephen Graham also joining the cast in an undisclosed, but likely crucial role.
