Agatha: All Along is set to debut on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with a special two-part premiere and will be the streaming service’s big Halloween event series this year. A spin-off and continuation of the popular series WandaVision, Agatha All Along will put a spotlight on the breakout character Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn. Following the tradition of Loki and Echo, Agatha: All Along looks to delve into a character that was an antagonist and give them new depth.
Starring Kathryn Hahn as the titular Marvel witch, Agatha All Along reveals how Scarlet Witch’s enemy broke Wanda Maximoff’s binding spell at the end of WandaVision. Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Emma Caulfield, and Ali Ahn join Hahn in the MCU Phase 5 spinoff series, released on Disney+.

Many have been wondering if Agatha: All Along will be the final story for Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, but it seems like Marvel Studios still has plans for the character. In an interview with Screen Rant, Marvel Studios’ Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, said there will be plenty more to come from Agatha in the future, so don’t expect Agatha All Along to end with the character’s downfall. The next Agatha appearance will be sooner rather than later, as he revealed she will have a part in the upcoming third and final season of What If…?. Read his full quote below:
“When you have an icon like Kathryn Hahn [and what she] has brought to the screen with Agatha, you just want to see more of her. So yes, there will be more Agatha in the future [of] the MCU, yes. She is in an episode of What If…? season 3 – I shouldn’t say more, but it’s one of my favorite episodes ever done, and it may involve the giant musical number, and she’s just incredible, and we all want to see more of her.”
Where Will Agatha Strike Next?
Winderbaum’s confirmation of Agatha Harkness’ appearance in What If…? Season 3 comes just after the D23 Marvel Animation panel revealed that Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, and Ironheart will also appear in the show’s final season. Given that Agatha All Along is teasing many musical elements, it is not surprising that her episode of What If…? would feature a song. It is unclear what her episode will center on, but there are many out there hoping to see her come face to face with Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch again.

There’s a bit of Marvel magic fans should relive before watching Agatha Harkness’ namesake show.
With a talented performer like Hahn, Agatha Harkness could potentially be a significant lynchpin of the MCU, connecting various corners of the franchise. Marvel Television has a Vision series in the works, so Agatha could appear in that, as both it and Agatha All Along are WandaVision spin-offs. Rumors have circulated that Marvel Studios has plans for a Young Avengers project to revolve around the search/resurrection of the Scarlet Witch. Agatha All Along features Joe Locke as a character named Billy, indicating he is Billy Kaplan/Wiccan from the Young Avengers, the son of the Scarlet Witch and Vision. That seems to imply that Agatha All Along is not only a continuation of WandaVision and exploration of Agatha Harkness but also another key part in laying the foundation for The Young Avengers, which is rumored to be one of the newly announced Marvel movies coming out between Doomsday and Secret Wars.
The other major Marvel team that Agatha Harkness could be part of is one uniting various supernatural-themed heroes. Be it The Legion of Monsters or the Midnight Suns, Marvel appears to be laying the groundwork for a team of heroes that connect to the mystical corners of their universe, like Blade, Moon Knight, and Werewolf by Night. A witch like Agatha Harkness would fit right in with a team that will likely consist of a vampire, a werewolf, and possibly a demon like Ghost Rider. What really matters is that there will be plenty more Agatha Harkness and, more importantly, more Kathryn Hahn in the MCU in the foreseeable future.
