Hulu’s scripted television series Pam & Tommy recounted an emotional chapter in the life of Pamela Anderson. Still, despite the show’s focus on the Baywatch actor, Anderson herself was not involved in the Hulu series production, nor did she give her consent or approval for the series. Though Anderson never offered any comment on Pam & Tommy, The Hollywood Reporter recently noted that the Home Improvement star’s reaction to the show would be featured on the star’s upcoming Netflix series Pamela, a love story.
Anderson’s documentary is expected to drop on Netflix on January 31st and will release alongside the actor’s upcoming HarperCollins memoir Love, Pamela. The Netflix series Pamela, a love story, will be directed by Good Night Oppy’s Ryan White and will provide never before seen footage, photos, and journal entries belonging to Anderson.

When asked about her choice to do a documentary on her life, Anderson told TUMDUM, “I was very hesitant, but looking back, I feel empowered. And I hope that [my story] inspires people to have a great f***ing time and not worry so much.”
During an interview with Vanity Fair to speak about her upcoming doc, Anderson and White reflected on everything the film will cover, including the star’s reaction to the Hulu series, which Anderson learned about while filming for her documentary.

Pamela Anderson Says ‘Nobody Knew the Truth’

In an email, Anderson told Vanity Fair, “Nobody knew the truth — even I don’t know 100 percent of what happened, but I think what is most important is to share my human feelings and how much it hurt and how it undeniably defined me moving forward — in my career and my relationships.”
Similarly, White noted that Pamela, a love story, will explore Anderson’s relationship with Tommy Lee and some of her other partners like Kid Rock. He said, “We have this whole archive of Tommy and Pamela falling in love, and I think our film will really humanize them,” White said. “I think they’re often seen as these larger-than-life … maybe even cartoon characters. When you watch this footage of them meeting, it’s really beautiful.”
He later added, “Pamela wears her heart on her sleeve — not just in relationships but in all things in her life. All of her husbands are a part of her story, so they’re in our film, including the most recent one. And no matter how many times it hasn’t worked out for her, she still is a hopeless romantic and looking for true love in every way.”
Anderson likewise affirmed, “I’m a romantic, and romance is tragedy. I believe in fairy tales.”
