Oscar Isaac’s Thom Browne Skirt Suit at Moon Knight Premiere

Oscar Isaac has debuted yet another noteworthy fashion moment. The actor is known for taking risks with his red carpet style, wearing everything from colorful button-up shirts to crisp wool suits at events. Most recently, the actor took his penchant for fashion risk a bit further, stepping out in a gray Thom Browne skirt suit to the London premiere of his new Marvel series “Moon Knight” on March 17.

Styled by Michael Fisher, his outfit featured a classic two-button blazer, white button-down, black tie, and a midlength pleated skirt that extended just past his knees (not quite the Miu Miu miniskirt length that’s been spotted everywhere, but still a statement-making look in its own right).

To complete the ensemble, Isaac paired the Thom Browne skirt suit with mismatched socks — one all black and the other with four white stripes — and wingtip pebble-grained combat boots. He is no newcomer to sporting a skirt on the red carpet.

Just earlier this week on March 14, while attending a Berlin screening of “Moon Knight,” he opted to wear a similar gray pleated skirt with a black and white graphic T-shirt, leather jacket, platform loafers, and plain black tube socks. While this outfit wasn’t officially photographed on the red carpet, his stylist took to Instagram to share a head-to-toe peek at this bold look. Could this be a sign of more skirts in Isaac’s fashion future? Perhaps.

It could also be that he’s been catching up on episodes of “Schitt’s Creek.” In the beloved series, the character of David Rose wears the exact same Thom Browne skirt suit in black on his wedding day. Actor Dan Levy also wore it in gray at the 2020 Emmys, where the show swept up a record number of awards. No matter what (or who) inspired Isaac’s recent interest in skirts, it’s a refreshing sartorial move that is certainly worth celebrating.
