‘South Park’ Petition Demands 17 Banned Episodes Be Added to Streaming on Paramount+ This July

There are few TV shows that have courted controversy quite like over the last 30 years, and it is still doing so – but not for the reasons you would probably expect. While many fans have been happy to discover the series is finally about to join Paramount+’s expensive library in July 2025, the news has been marred by the almost guaranteed exclusion of 17 episodes that are effectively being “banned” from the platform. And that has obviously led to a petition.

South Park has been available on Paramount+ in several other countries, including the U.K., for a while now, and in those territories, a total of 17 episodes have remained unavailable. The list comprises:

“Big Gay Al’s Boat Ride” Season 1, Episode 4

“Terrance And Phillip In Not Without My Anus” Season 2, Episode 1

“Pip/Great Expectations” Season 4, Episode 14

“Super Best Friends” Season 5, Episode 3

“Jared Has Aides” Season 6, Episode 2

“Simpsons Did It” Season 6, Episode 7

“Cancelled” Season 7, Episode 1

“Passion Of The Jew” Season 8, Episode 3

“You Got F’d In The A” Season 8, Episode 4

“Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow” Season 9, Episode 8

“Trapped In The Closet” Season 9, Episode 12

“Cartoon Wars 1 & 2” Season 10, Episodes 3 and 4

“200 & 201” Season 14, Episodes 5 and 6

“Jewpacabra” Season 16, Episode 4

“Ginger Cow” Season 17, Episode 6

Reminder: ‘South Park’ Fans Should Binge the Most Controversial Episodes on Max While They Still Can

‘South Park’ may be leaving Max, and these episodes could disappear or be censored as the series heads to its new home on Paramount+.

In a Change.org petition, fans have now demanded that Paramount+ should “give fans the full content they love and support” by not omitting these episodes from the launch. The petition reads:

“As fans of South Park — the most fearless, controversial, and impactful animated series of all time — we’re calling on Paramount+ to release the entire series, including the 17 episodes currently excluded from the upcoming July 2025 catalog. Paramount CEO Bob Bakish previously promised not to censor historical art, saying: “I don’t believe in censoring art that was made historically… You don’t have to watch anything you don’t want to.”

So why is Paramount+ now removing key episodes, many of which helped define the show’s legacy and solidify Comedy Central’s success? This is not about shock value — this is about freedom of expression, artistic consistency, and respecting your audience. By pulling these episodes, Paramount+ is showing a disappointing contradiction between what it says and what it does.

This decision, if left unchanged, will go down as one of the most short-sighted in streaming history. Don’t be a flip-flopper. Do the right thing. Let the art speak for itself. Release all 17 episodes.”

For a long while now, South Park has been a fixture of Max, but as the series prepares to change streaming platforms, fans have been bracing themselves to not have quite the same line-up of episodes when the show hits Paramount+.

Currently, and until the end of June, fans can still watch most of these episodes of the series, although Max has already removed “Super Best Friends,” “Cartoon Wars Part I & II,” “200,” and “201.” There has been no official confirmation from Paramount+ that they will be banning these episodes, but considering they are missing around the world where South Park is already being hosted by Paramount+ it seems likely that there will be some form of censorship on them if not a complete removal from the episodes available.

Whether the petition from fans, which was set up five days ago but has only gained 1140 signatures at the time of writing, will have any impact on the decision about which episodes will and won’t make it into Paramount+’s library is yet to be seen. However, by the end of the month, that number could have grown significantly ahead of the show’s platform switch.
