Chris Evans Gets Transformed into The Flash in New Fan Art

Chris Evans has already left the Captain America shield behind now that Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson is taking over the First Avenger mantle, but the actor still has a lot to offer to the superhero genre, and he could do it by joining the DCU.

With the many changes that are currently undergoing in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios, a new version of many iconic heroes from DC Comics are coming to the big and small screen, and Barry Allen may be one of them. Although Ezra Miller has delivered a more than decent performance of the Scarlet Speedster, The Flash star has played a major part into the movie’s flop, since the many controversies surrounding them has led many people to not wanting to see the film.

So with the continuity of Miller in doubt, a new actor could take over the role in the future, and Chris Evans may actually be a fine choice. Although the actor is a little old for the part, since Barry Allen is normally a guy in his twenties, there’s no doubt the former MCU star would look good into the speedster suit, as a recent fan art from Instagram user jph_photoshop shows:

As the artist states, Evans even looks way more similar to Barry Allen’s version introduced in the animated movie Flashpoint than Ezra Miller themself, although of course what actually matters is the acting and not the looks. But Chris has already proven to be an amazing performer, so that wouldn’t be a problem for him.

Could Chris Evans Join the DCU?

20th Century Studios

Even before joining the MCU to play Steve Rogers, Chris Evans already had a history within the comic book adaptations world. The actor was part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe playing Casey Jones in one of the many animated series the franchise had. He also was part of 2010’s The Losers adaptation, based on the comic book series of the same name created by Andy Diggle and Jock.

Another well-remembered comic book movie that had Chris Evans as one of its main stars was Snowpiercer, directed by Academy Award-winner Bong Joon-ho (Parasite), a film that actually includes one of the actor’s best performances. But when it comes to this kind of projects, leaving the superhero theme aside, most fans must recall Evans from his participation on the acclaimed Scott Pilgrim vs the World, considered by many as one of the best comic book adaptations ever made.

The actor’s story with Marvel also started way before suiting up as Captain America, since he was part of the cast of Fox’s Fantastic Four short saga from the earliest 2000, playing a memorable Johnny Storm. But he never got the chance of suiting up as a DC hero, but that could change soon.

With so many opportunities opening up now that Gunn and Safran are rebuilding the DCU, Evans could easily find a new role within the superhero genre. And although Barry Allen may be too young for him, he could play another speedster like Jay Garrick, or take over a completely different character such as Batman. Since the new version of the Caped Crusader that Andy Muschietti will introduce is already a father, a more mature actor could play him, and Chris Evans would be a good option.
