Michael Myers comes home again in brand-new artwork. A pair of stunning posters created by artist Jason Edmiston celebrates the 45th anniversary of John Carpenter’s 1978 slasher film Halloween. Both pieces of art feature the Halloween franchise’s iconic boogeyman: one is a specifically timed edition, while the other is a limited edition available only at the upcoming H45: 45 Years of Terror convention being held this weekend in Pasadena, California. The purple-colored Halloween Limited Edition Screen Print Variant will only be available at this weekend’s H45: 45 Years of Terror convention celebrating the 45th anniversary of Halloween. H45 runs from Friday, September 29 until Sunday, October 1. The poster is limited to 150 signed-and-numbered pieces of art, and the 36″ x 24″ print will cost $90. Edmiston described the two new pieces of Halloween art in an interview with Fangoria. The artist said:

“These screen prints are based on art, that was initially created for Spooky Pinball’s official Halloween pinball game. The separations for these posters were painstakingly recreated to accurately represent all the details and color nuances of the original acrylic painting. I used a combination of transparent and opaque ink layers to achieve the wide-ranging color palette, utilizing a unique technique that I’ve developed over my career.”

The timed edition is also a 36″ x 24″ print that will be signed and numbered. Fans can purchase this piece for a little bit cheaper, at $75, compared to the more expensive limited-edition’s $90 price tag. Edmiston talked a bit about the inspiration behind his Halloween posters in the same interview:

“I previously employed this approach for the well-known official recreations of famous movie posters as screen prints such as Roger Kastel’s Jaws, Frank Frazetta’s From Dusk Till Dawn, and most recently Lanny Power’s Dawn of the Dead. The variant limited edition art print utilizes many of the same layers, but with a dramatically noticeable cool color shift, sans title and credits.”

Many cast members from virtually every installment of the Halloween franchise will be at H45 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of John Carpenter’s classic horror flick over the weekend. Academy Award winner Jamie Lee Curtis is NOT scheduled to make an appearance, at the time of this writing, but many actors from the 1978 film will be in Pasadena, including P.J. Soles, Nancy Loomis, Nick Castle and John Michael Graham. To purchase Jason Edmiston’s new, timed edition Halloween poster, starting on September 28, visit the artist’s online art store.
