Kelce brothers set for Super Bowl showdown

Each season 32 teams set off on a journey to make it to a Super Bowl, and while we the NFL Super Bowl odds at the start of the season can point to the favourites, the road to get there can be long and arduous with only two teams able to make it.

The highs and lows of professional sport can forge a relationship between teammates that can often be so strong that many inside the changing rooms call it a brother hood. Ahead of this year’s Super Bowl, Betway took a trip down to the Tottenham Hotspur training complex to pick the brains of some of the clubs’ finest players.

Called the ‘Teammate’s Challenge’, each team needed to correctly predict what the other was thinking, often resulting in hilarious outcomes. Before the big game, make sure you check out the video.

Super Bowl LVII

This year history will be made, as for the first time in Super Bowl history two brothers will face each other on opposite sides of the field – as Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs prepares to take on his older brother Jason of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The odds of making it to the NFL Hall of Fame are tiny, but the odds of two brothers from the same family going onto have Hall of Fame careers is unheard of.

Both Travis and Jason Kelce are absolute studs with many regarding them as the best players in their position.

Travis is the youngest of the two and is well on his way to becoming the greatest Tight End of all time. Despite standing at 6-5 and weighing over 250lbs, Kelce is a threat all over the field. With over 10,000 receiving yards already in his career, Kelce ranks fourth all time in the list of Tight End greats and is rapidly closing in on those above him.

He has a telepathic chemistry with his quarterback Patrick Mahomes and will be the biggest headache that the Philadelphia defense will need to solve this upcoming Sunday.

Older brother Jason is a Center and is widely believed to be one of the best Centers in the history of the game. Now 35, and playing in his twelfth NFL season, it’s widely expected that this could be Kelce’s last ever game for his beloved Eagles. A three time All-Pro, Kelce is the glue for what many believe is the greatest offensive line in the game.

The brothers themselves have been keen to downplay the historical significance behind their meeting with both regularly stating that this game is far bigger than the both of them. The consistent line they have both been towing is that their ‘Mom can’t lose.’

This isn’t the first time that siblings have played a part in the Super Bowl. Back in 2013 John and Jim Harbaugh led their teams, the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens to the big game, and it marked the first time that opposing brothers would go onto coach against one another. The game would eventually be won by Jon’s Baltimore Ravens.

Jason and Devin McCourty ended up playing for the 2018 Super Bowl champions the New England Patriots and their success marked the first time that two brothers had won a Super Bowl whilst playing on the same side.
