Lamar Jackson faces ‘uphill battle’ to play vs. Bengals

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson faces an “uphill battle” to play in the wild-card round against the Cincinnati Bengals due to his PCL sprain, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Jackson is rehabbing and doing his best to get on the field, but the knee doesn’t feel quite right, according to Rapoport. If Jackson can’t go, Tyler Huntley will start.

The 26-year-old Jackson missed the final five games of the season due to the injury. He hasn’t suited up since Dec. 4.

Head coach John Harbaugh said Friday that he was hopeful Jackson would be cleared for the start of the playoffs.

Huntley has played in five games this season, totaling 795 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. He first filled in when Jackson went down in the Ravens’ Week 13 contest against the Denver Broncos. Baltimore is 2-2 in games Huntley has started this season.

The former MVP Jackson is slated to be a free agent at the end of the season. He has 3,006 total yards with 20 touchdowns and 10 turnovers in 12 games this season.
