Ravens laud Lamar’s 4-TD game vs. Lions: ‘It’s a video game’

Lamar Jackson posted one of the best performances of his career Sunday to help the Baltimore Ravens blow out the Detroit Lions 38-6.

Jackson drew praise from his teammates after finishing with 21 completions on 27 attempts for 357 yards and three touchdown passes. The former NFL MVP added 36 yards and another score on the ground in the highly anticipated Week 7 clash.

“It’s a video game,” Baltimore offensive tackle Morgan Moses said postgame, according to Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Banner.

Jackson, who wasn’t sacked against Detroit, posted a 155.8 passer rating – the third-best of his career in a single game and his highest since 2019 – despite facing a Lions defense that ranked seventh in EPA per play entering Week 7.

“He was on the money all day,” said Ravens tight end Mark Andrews. “Money Lamar. … Ball placement was incredible.”

Baltimore made big changes offensively during the offseason after ranking 19th in scoring in 2022. The Ravens hired offensive coordinator Todd Monken to replace Greg Roman and added new receivers by drafting Zay Flowers in the first round and signing Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham led the team with five catches versus the Lions. Flowers caught four passes for 75 yards, while Andrews hauled in two touchdowns.

“When we’re doing what we’re supposed to be doing, the sky’s the limit,” Jackson said after the game.

Despite the big win, which moved the Ravens to 5-2, Jackson doesn’t want to get too excited.

“I’m alright with winning, but it’s still the regular season,” he said, according to Sarah Ellison of “The Vault” podcast. “We made strides with improvement from last week and earlier this season, but it’s just one regular-season game.”

Baltimore visits the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8.
