Titans release Lewan after 9 seasons, also cut Woods, Bullock

The Tennessee Titans cut multiple veterans on Wednesday.

Tennessee is releasing offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, the team announced. Lewan spent his entire nine-year career with the Titans after being a first-round draft pick in 2014.

The 31-year-old thanked Titans fans on social media.

Lewan had a non-guaranteed salary of $14.8 million this season, and the release gives the Titans some cap relief. The gritty 31-year-old lineman has missed 30 games over the last three seasons due to injury.

The Titans also released veteran wide receiver Robert Woods and kicker Randy Bullock. The 30-year-old Woods seemingly reacted to the news on Twitter.

Woods was acquired by the Titans from the Los Angeles Rams last offseason for a sixth-round pick. He started all 17 games for Tennessee, hauling in two touchdowns and recording 527 receiving yards. The Titans save $12 million against the cap by releasing Woods.

Bullock played in 31 games with the Titans over the last two seasons. He made 84% of his field goals during his two-year tenure in Tennessee.
