Entourage Creator Reveals the One Person Who Could Make a Revival Happen

The creator of the HBO series |Entourage is letting the world know that the series could be making a comeback sometime in the near future. The iconic drama was created and mostly written by Doug Ellin. The Entourage creator had recently revealed that there’s only one person who can make the series reboot happen. The one person that Doug Ellin is speaking about, is none other than Mark Wahlberg.

During a recent interview with TMZ, Doug Ellin was asked if Entourage could be the next HBO reboot that will most likely premiere on HBO Max. In his response, Doug Ellin went on to say: “Adrian Grenier said he’s in, big news… I got all of them. So yeah I wouldn’t do it without the five, and Mark Wahlberg just needs to call HBO and make it happen, and all will be good.” Despite the show’s breakout popularity in the 2000s, Doug Ellin had seemed a bit sarcastic about Entourage being the one HBO show that hasn’t gotten a reboot or revival yet.

“So weird… that one show that the New York Times said is the best show on television in 2004; and that President Obama said was his favorite show. But that one they don’t care about. Weird right?” Then during Doug Ellin’s Hollywood Wayz podcast, he also revealed that Adrian Grenier, and as well as the rest of the core cast of the series, are all standing by and ready to go for the Entourage reboot. It seems as if all that is needed is for Mark Wahlberg to give the thumbs up in order to move forward.

Entourage is an American comedy-drama television series that premiered on HBO on July 18, 2004. The series had concluded on September 11, 2011, after eight successful seasons. Entourage chronicles the acting career of Vincent Chase, who is a young A-list celebrity, along with his childhood friends from Queens, New York City, as they attempt to further their careers in Los Angeles, CA. Alongside Adrian Grenier as the series lead, the show also starred Jeremy Piven, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, and Jerry Ferrara. Entourage is loosely based on Mark Wahlberg’s experiences as an up and coming film star.

In August 2010, it was officially confirmed that Entourage would come to an end after its eighth season. The series creator, Doug Ellin, had then expressed his interest in writing a film once the series had ended. By September 2012, it had been revealed that Doug Ellin had successfully completed the script for the Entourage feature film, and that it would take place six months from where the series had ended. After several delays in production, and contract issues the film’s cast, the feature film was finally released on June 3, 2015.

Entourage had received many positive reviews from critics for majority of its run on HBO. However, the eighth and final season of the series had received mixed reviews from critics, as the show currently holds a 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which are based on 14 reviews. Entourage was nominated for 26 Primetime Emmy Awards, with a total of six wins in several categories including, acting, directing, writing, and for Outstanding Comedy Series. If Entourage was to ever be rebooted in the near future, the setting will most likely have to take place in more real time modern world, as well as watching Adrian Genier’s character, Vincent Chase, still trying to find a place as an aging star.
