And a new documentary titled Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones & Harrison Ford is coming to Disney+. The original doc’s logline reads as follows:

Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones & Harrison Ford Drops in December

Lucasfilm

Harrison Ford first donned Indiana Jones‘ trademark fedora in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) over 40 years ago. Director Steven Spielberg was an upcoming phenom who had already helmed Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. And screenwriter George Lucas was fresh off of creating the first two installments of his must-see space opera Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. And, today, Lucas understands just how brightly Ford’s star shines in Hollywood. Lucas says in the new documentary Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones & Harrison Ford’s trailer:

The secret of being an iconic actor is they’ll refer to him when they’re referring to a particular kind of actor. When they say, ‘Harrison Ford-type,’ you’ve become an icon.

Ford struggled like many actors trying to make it in Hollywood when he first started out. But, as most fans of that galaxy far, far away already know, Ford won the role of Han Solo in Star Wars when Lucas had him read lines with potential actors who were trying to land the roles of characters in the 1977 film. What Ford couldn’t know then is that four years later he’d begin playing the second of the two iconic characters he is most well-known for today. And his fortunes changed thanks to his working relationships with Spielberg and Lucas. Ford says in the same documentary:

These guys [Spielberg, Lucas] were young, upcoming. When they came into my life… things got better.

Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones & Harrison Ford begins streaming Friday, December 1 on Disney+.
