Kim Cattrall Will Take How I Met Your Father Into the Future on Hulu

Kim Cattrall has joined the cast of How I Met Your Father. The information was confirmed by Variety. She will be a supporting cast member in the upcoming Hulu series. The show serves as a sequel series to the beloved How I Met Your Mother.

A synopsis for How I Met Your Father reads, ”In the near future, Sophie (Hilary Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”

Kim Cattrall’s character is the future version of Sophie. Her role is similar to Bob Saget’s in the first show, as he was the future version of the main protagonist. Ainsley’s best known performance was in The Royals.Tran appeared in the reboot/sequel Candyman.Raisa was a cast member in Secret Life of the American Teenager. Sharma made his debut in the critically acclaimed Life of Pi. There is a mix of actors who have experience in the big or small screen.

Her performance as Samantha Jones gave her five Emmy nominations for Best Actress. Later, she appeared in the two Sex and the Citymovies. Additional credits include the 1986 John Carpenter classic Big Trouble in Little China, the sci-if sequel Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, and the upcoming title About My Father.

How I Met Your Father features a crew with plenty of experience in the television industry. Writers and executive producers for the Hulu show are This Is Us co-showrunners and Love, Victorco-creators Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. The creators of the original series How I Met Your Mother Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will also be executive producers for the new program. Another executive producer is Pam Fryman, who is directing the pilot episode. In addition to playing the lead, Duff will work as a producer. Adam Lundy will be a co-executive producer. Like the original show, 20th Television is producing the new title. Aptaker and Berger have a current deal going on with the production company.
