  • That ’90s Show Debuts at No. 5 on Netflix’s Top 10 List

Ginny & Georgia is still on top as the most-watched English-language series, while That ’90s Show reaches the No. 5 spot.

Netflix

The new comedy series That ’90s Show will land at No. 5 on Netflix‘s top 10 list upon its debut. A continuation of That ’70s Show, the sitcom brings back original stars Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp alongside a younger cast of characters to carry the torch into another decade. The original show had been such a hit that remains popular with fans to this day, and according to Netflix, that has translated into 41.08 million hours streamed by the show for subscribers.

This puts That ’90s Show at No. 5 on the list of most-watched English-language shows on the streamer. At the top remains Ginny & Georgia for the third consecutive week, with the Netflix Original scoring 87.4 million hours streamed for its second season; season 1 of the show sits at No. 4 with another 43.2 million hours. VIkings: Valhalla season 2 is at No. 2 with 55.53 million hours and Wednesday is at No. 3 with 45.74 million hours streamed.

If we’re going down the rest of the list in the top 10, we’re looking at Vikings: Valhalla season 1 at No. 6 with 25.37 million hours; Kaleidoscope at No. 7 with 22.99 million hours; Emily in Paris season 3 at No. 8 with 15.55 million hours; New Amsterdam season 1 at No. 9 14.64 million hours; and the eleventh and final season of The Walking Dead at No. 10 with 11.8 million hours.

Meanwhile, the feel-good family film Dog Gone tops the English Films list. That’s followed by The Pale Blue Eye, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker, Sing, and Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical.

Will That ’90s Show Get a Renewal?

Netflix

It remains to be seen if That ’90s Show will get renewed, or if our return to Point Place will be limited to one season. That will obviously boil down to the success of the show. While debuting at No. 1 would have been ideal, landing at No. 5 is respectable, suggesting there are many people watching – even if not quite as much as there are for Ginny & Georgia. Reviews similarly are on the positive side but not perfect, scoring a 74% approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes. Whether this will be enough to convince Netflix to roll the dice with another season is something we’ll find out soon enough, but is currently unknown.

That ’90s Show stars Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp alongside Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Reyn Doi, Sam Morelos, and Maxwell Acee Donovan, The series also features guest appearances from several original members of That ’70s Show.
