Young Mazino literally broke the cardinal TV rule by spilling spoilers for HBO’s hit The Last Of Us while he was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. There was a shock-and-awe reaction in the fan base with many going from complete bafflement to outright frustration.

The clip shared on ‘The Tonight Show’s’ official social media page shared the major plot information; it didn’t really carry the spoiler in the accompanying tweet. This did not stop people from raging in commentaries. The first to comment was Pyr0Apple with, “So Joel died or nah? I’m confused now.” Classic. Then 9ers72 proceeded on a darker note, “Well Jesse gets his head blown off, so he’ll get his for spoiling.” Harsh but fair.
The sci-fi writer-poohbia coolly stated: “Game been out for years, there’s no spoilers atp.” Absolutely, the original game has been out since 2013, but the HBO series did open up a whole slew of new potential viewers who may not be familiar with the story. And to be frank here: Nobody appreciates having a big moment spoiled, irrespective of how old the source is.
The chaos kept going. Another entered-the-scene-user, Q, with something totally unrelated yet somehow fitting on-the-mark, poetic: “Sundays are for aura maxxing and new episodes of The Last Of Us. My sacred ritual.” Untamed mood.
In celebrity-dom, it’s not unheard of to spoil. Remember when Tom Holland was, practically banned from interviews, because he just couldn’t keep his mouth shut about any of these Marvel movies? Or when Mark Ruffalo actually tweeted the ending to Avengers: Infinity War before its premiere? Some actors seemingly just cannot help themselves.
Whether it was a genuine slip of the tongue or just a good-natured tease for Mazino remains a mystery. But the one thing everyone knows now is that The Last Of Us fans are on high alert. So if you have been watching and catching up with the show, it might be wise to stay off of Twitter for a while. Just saying.
Based on the critically acclaimed Naughty Dog video game, the series has been a huge hit for HBO in blending drama with raw survival horror. With season two already in the works, there really is no way that the hype is stopping, and possibly neither are the spoilers.

So, how big was the deal with Mazino’s slip of the tongue? Depends on whom you ask. Some are outright mad, some couldn’t care less, and some are just here for the vibes. It has been a big talking point; and let’s be real here, probably exactly what The Tonight Show wanted.
