The Crowded Room Poster Zooms in on Tom Holland & Amanda Seyfried

The first poster for the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series, The Crowded Room, further teases the psychological thriller, which is scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform next week. The Crowded Room finds Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland taking the lead alongside Academy Award nominee Amanda Seyfried, with the poster offering several extreme close-ups of both actors and their A-list faces.

The borderline uncomfortable close-ups are no doubt a hint at how both Holland Seyfried’s characters will be put under the microscope. Known best for playing the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in the MCU, The Crowded Room will be a change of pace for Tom Holland, as he portrays Danny Sullivan, a man arrested for his involvement in a New York City shooting in 1979. Seyfried meanwhile will play the unlikely investigator assigned to his case, Rya Goodwin, with the pair exchanging deeply personal details about their lives during interrogation.

The poster comes following the first trailer for the series. Tom Holland will make his debut on the small screen with Apple TV+ in The Crowded Room, the upcoming original series from the streaming platform. Amanda Seyfried joins the Marvel star in this intriguing thriller that has finally presented its first trailer:

The Crowded Room focuses on the life of Danny Sullivan, a young man arrested for participating in a shooting in New York City in the late 1970s. In prison, a woman will try to discover Danny’s motivations by interrogating him, taking both of them into a journey through his memories, which means the show will go back and forth in time.

As they delve into Danny’s memory, they will discover an important revelation that will completely change the course of the case, which will explain why his present is plagued with violence.

The Crowded Room’s cast is rounded out by Sasha Lane, Will Chase and Lior Raz along with guest stars Jason Isaacs, Christopher Abbott, Thomas Sadoski and Zachary Golinger.

Created by Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman, the 10-episode limited series is a co production between Apple Studios and New Regency, and it’s coming to Apple TV+ on June 9.

Tom Holland Is Ready for New Challenges

Netflix

Despite becoming a rising star thanks to his role in 2012’s The Impossible, Tim Holland’s big break came in 2016 when he donned the Spider-Man suit for the first time in Captain America: Civil War. Since then, the British actor has become an emblem within the franchise, but he has also tried to take different paths with his career.

The first project that put him very far away from the MCU and Peter Parker was The Devil All the Time, the Antonio Campos film where he plays a character that is not at all hopeful and rather dark, very different from the friendly neighbor Spider-Man. In 2021 he rejoined the Russo brothers after Avengers: Endgame in Cherry, another film that distanced him from the role that put him on the map, although that same year he released Spider-Man: No Way Home and another movie that sought to build a popular franchise, Uncharted. Now, with his arrival on television, there is no doubt that Holland seeks to make it clear that he is much more than Peter Parker and that he can shine in all kinds of roles.

And he has chosen an ideal partner for that, since Seyfried was also a youth movie star at the time thanks to Mean Girls, but little by little built a great and versatile career. Last year, in fact, she took the Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Miniseries for her portrayal of Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout, where she did a truly amazing job playing the former CEO of Theranos.

So the combination of the two actors might be enough reason to give The Crowded Room a good chance, besides the quality that Apple has shown in some other original series like The Morning Show, Severance, Servant or Ted Lasso.
