Where will Liverpool end up in the 2022-23 Premier League season?

Liverpool’s downfall is among the most discussed points in the 2022/23 season. It all started with the departure of Sadio Mane, who left for Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

With that departure, expectations increased for Muhammad Salah to lead the attack. However, he failed miserably, especially at the start of the season.

With Roberto Firmino Injured and not performing when fit, Darwin Nunez not living up to the expectations, and continuous injuries to crucial players, Klopp’s Liverpool has just looked wholly different than previous seasons.

In the January transfer window, they did sign Dutch star player Cody Gakpo, but he also failed to meet the expectations. However, he can’t be blamed this early.

That said, we can conclude that Injuries and players not clicking are the two primary reasons behind their worst-possible season, as they sit 7th at the table with 36 points in 23 games, winning 10, drawing 6, and losing 7.

With the return of injured players and 15 games left to play, they have enough time to finish in the top 6 and given the strength of their squad; they surely can turn things around at any time and make you want to buy Liverpool tickets

Following is the list of some heavyweight fixtures they’re scheduled to play in the next couple of months before the end of the 2022/23 season:

Out of the top 6 teams at the premier league table, Manchester United has more challenging games in the remaining season.

The game against Liverpool is one of those fixtures you won’t want to miss at any condition, given the rivalry between the two clubs. In recent seasons, we have repeatedly seen Klopp’s Liverpool thrashing Manchester United.

However, things are very much different this time, with Erik Ten Hag’s side sitting third at the table with 49 points in 24 games, winning 15, drawing 4, and losing 5. On the other hand, Liverpool is playing some poor football, to be honest.

They aren’t even in the top 6, sitting 7th at the table with 36 points in 23 games, winning 10, drawing 6, and losing 7. They’ve lost many points this season; however, their injured players are back and would be looking forward to making sure they finish in the top 4 or at least within the top 6. Despite their recent poor run of form, it would be a thriller to watch, given the quality in both sides’ squads.

Manchester City vs Liverpool has been the most-watched league fixture in the world in recent seasons, and it’s not without any reason. Both teams were two of the best sides in Europe and promised thrillers each time.

Despite Liverpool’s poor run of form this season, Liverpool beat Manchester City in the first leg. That said, the second leg of this thriller is scheduled to take place at the Etihad Stadium at the start of April 23.

Chelsea vs Liverpool is one of the calendar season’s most anticipated premier league fixtures.

It’s worth mentioning that this fixture was initially scheduled to take place in September 2022 but was postponed due to the demise of Queen Elizabeth.

With both teams currently lying in the mid of the table, struggling for points, it would be a thriller to watch two sides going all in to secure all three points to end up in some respective position at the end of the season.

Liverpool vs Arsenal is another exciting fixture in the remainder Premier League 2022/23 season. Arsenal’s trust in their manager paid off, as they’re bossing the premier league with a 2-point lead over Manchester City with one more game in hand.

Meanwhile, Klopp’s Liverpool has been showing a poor display in all game departments since the start of the season. With the game set to take place in April, the league table would become more apparent, making the fixture more interesting.

Another heavyweight fixture Liverpool is scheduled to play in the coming months is against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspurs, who are playing some good football this season, despite Conte mentioning more improvement at times.

Spurs currently sit fourth at the table and are a genuine contender to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season. However, it’d be a big test for them to secure all three points against the reds, as form doesn’t matter much in games like these.
