Watch Dua Lipa cover Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ in Lyon

Dua Lipa played a version of Daft Punk’s 2013 megahit ‘Get Lucky’ on stage in Lyon this week – watch the footage below.

The ‘Houdini’ star made a habit of covering tracks by local music legends during the Australia and New Zealand leg of her ‘Radical Optimism’ tour in recent months, and now it seems she is doing the same on her current run of European shows.

The latest example came in the LDLC Arena outside Lyon, France on Friday night (May 16), where she played the ‘Random Access Memories’ single, taking on the vocal parts made famous by Pharrell Williams.

The Friday night show was Lipa’s second night in Lyon, after two shows in Madrid that saw her take on Enrique Iglesias’ ‘Hero’ and Manu Chao’s ‘Me Gustas Tú’.

She began her streak of covering local artists during her Australian and New Zealand tour in late March and April, where she covered songs like Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’Natalie Imbruglia’s ‘Torn’AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’Lorde’s ‘Royals’ and INXS’ ‘Never Tear Us Apart’.

During the tour, she was also joined onstage by the likes of Tame Impala’s Kevin ParkerTroye SivanVance Joy and Crowded House’s Neil Finn.

Last month, Dua Lipa announced the Latin American leg of the ‘Radical Optimism’ tour, kicking off on November 7 in Buenos Aires in Argentina, with stops in Chile, Brazil, Peru, Columbia and Mexico. You can view the full list of dates here.

Before that, she will be return to the UK for even more live shows this summer, kicking off the run with two huge concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium (June 20, 21) followed by two dates at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool on June 24 and 25. Find any remaining tickets here.

The tour is in support of her third studio album ‘Radical Optimism‘. In a three-star review of the LP, NME shared: “She’s since referred to that key group of collaborators as ‘the band’, highlighting a shared cohesiveness and understanding of the mood. Swooning opener ‘End Of An Era’ demonstrates that well, and ‘Anything For Love’, featuring studio chatter from the crew, suggests this album has been made with care and, you can tell, a lot of fun.”

Elsewhere, a lawsuit was recently dismissed that had accused her of copying her 2020 hit track ‘Levitating’ from two other songs. Back in 2022, the pop star was sued by songwriters L Russell Brown and Sandy Linzer who claimed that Lipa had plagiarised their songs – 1979’s ‘Wiggle And Giggle All Night’ and 1980’s ‘Don Diablo’.
