All the Celebrities at the Marc Jacobs Fall 2022 Show

With bowl-cut mullet hairstyles and bleached eyebrows, the Hadid sisters and Kendall Jenner were almost unrecognizable on the Marc Jacobs fall 2022 runway, where they walked down the catwalks in oversize, deconstructed silhouettes and sky-high white Mary Janes platforms. Jenner wore a blue cable-knit sweater with another matching sweater tied around her waist, worn over a white button-down shirt and white vinyl skirt. Gigi Hadid had a similar look, although she wore a ribbed-knit sweater in an eye-catching shade of pink with a gray vinyl skirt. Marc Jacobs’s penchant for volume and layering unexpected pieces together was at play here, taking shape also on Bella Hadid, who was clad in a voluminous black-and-white sleeveless ball gown with a bulbous waist and a bustle.

“We share our choices in contrast to the ongoing brutality and ugliness of a world beyond our insulated but not impermeable walls.”

The collection opened on a Matrix-style midi dress in blue vinyl, then segued into an identical trio of gray, green, and lavender looks resembling hospital scrubs. Could it be a reference to the Supreme Court’s recent overturning of Roe v. Wade? Possibly. Fashion, for Jacobs, has always mirrored the times we live in. “We share our choices in contrast to the ongoing brutality and ugliness of a world beyond our insulated but not impermeable walls,” the designer quoted Nietzsche in the show notes. The following looks explored themes of comfort through oversize sweater shapes; Victorian-era dressing through voluminous ball gowns; and contemporary dress codes through the use of denim and tailored silhouettes.

Held at the New York Public Library on Monday, June 27, the event brought together a star-studded crowd, including the superstar models, Christine Quinn, June Ambrose, Emily Ratajkowski, and Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour. Quinn wore a look from the fall 2021 collection: a bandeau top and matching leggings emblazoned with the Marc Jacobs letters. Ambrose chose a caftan-style midi dress under a black blazer. Ratajkowski opted for a sensual slip dress in a multicolor psychedelic print, and Wintour arrived wearing a floral maxi dress.

Ahead, see who attended the Marc Jacobs fall 2022 runway show, and take a closer peek at the collection’s most noteworthy looks.
