See Harlem Star Shoniqua Shandai’s Bold Blue Premiere Dress

Shoniqua Shandai is that girl! The Harlem star walked onto the blue carpet at the cast’s New York City premiere on Wednesday dressed to impress. From head to toe, Shoniqua dared to be bold and colorful, just like her character Angie on the Amazon Prime Video series. The Harlem star’s stylist Mickey Freeman and assistant Rodney E Haile Jr. captured Shoniqua’s regality in a blue, floor-length Drenusha Xharra gown that had off-the-shoulder puff sleeves and a sexy high slit, teaming the dress with red statement heels from Amina E. Means’s Nalebe luxury shoe brand and a Tiffany & Co. ring.

The actress’s hairstylist Lavette Slater highlighted her afro with butterfly clips that are much more elegant than the ones I wore growing up! To complete the look, makeup artist George Miguel Arnone gave Shoniqua a fuchsia lip, bold brows, a smoky blue eye, and soft blush. And, of course, she gave a shout-out to the series by having her multicolor nails by NYC-based technician Cedelia Green spell out “Harlem.”

Harlem debuts on Friday, Dec. 3. The series shines a spotlight on girlfriends Angie, Camille (Meagan Good), Quinn (Grace Byers), and Tye (Jerrie Johnson), and their trials and tribulations in their careers and in love while being in the NYC borough that has so much to offer. Angie has a big personality and her fashion sense matches, so I was happy to see Shoniqua’s style also encompass that magic. Scroll through to see Shoniqua’s red carpet look from all angles.
