“If I had to picture my perfect middle school outfit with UGGs, it would include a textured baby tee with a ruffle trim, the beloved Solow fold-over pants of yesteryear, and a North Face fleece. Plus braces. Do those count as an accessory? I used to love dragging my feet down the hallways — perhaps purposefully, to draw attention to my shoes — in the Classic Short Boot (I absolutely owned the Fugg version of them in baby blue, too).

Now, I think of the brand very differently — it’s less of a status symbol and more of a quality footwear company that’s withstood the test of time. But all it takes is one glimpse of the logo at the back of the heel to spark nostalgia, and that somehow makes me more excited to construct an outfit. The UGG Moxy Chelsea Boots ($170) have a utilitarian feel, so I love teaming them with boxy pieces like my Barbour, Levi’s barrel jeans, Asos denim jacket, and Stand Oil Mushy bag.
