Free Tools for Small Business Owners

From accounting to content creation and blog banners, there are many tools that you need if you are operating an online business. If you pay for these tools, you will soon realize that the costs are piling up and that your expenses are becoming bigger than your income.

Today, we will share some of the best free tools that you can use for your online business. From here, you can check them out yourself and see if they can help you accomplish some of your business goals.

Canva

Canva is a video and image editor. It is free to use, but there are some elements you should pay for. This, however, does not mean that you cannot benefit from the things that it offers for free.

Here are the things you can do with it:

  • Facebook cover and banner
  • YouTube intro videos and thumbnails
  • Posts for social media ads

One thing you will love about the tool is that there are thousands of free templates, photos, graphic arts and fonts that you can choose from. There are also free video templates. Plus, the dimensions of each graphic or video art are already aligned with the specific social media platform you will use it for.

The way it works is also simple. All you have to do is to choose a template and change the words. You can also change the photos and their arrangement if you want. Then, you can download the file in MP4, JPG or PNG format.

WordPress and WooCommerce

WordPress is a content management system that powers 30% of the world’s websites. It is free to use, but you need a web hosting service provider to make it work.

WooCommerce is free software that allows you to turn your website into a store. Instead of paying for a CMS or an online store platform, it is better that you put up your website with both of these tools. With WordPress, you can design various pages for your website and also upload blog posts.

Certainly, there are limitations to what you can do. That is why you will need additional tools like Elementor, which also has a free plan.

Elementor is a drag-and-drop editor that bypasses the programming of WordPress. With it, you can design your website to your liking and get rid of limitations such as the default WordPress website columns, width and sections.

With WooCommerce, you will be able to create product pages, add-to-cart-buttons and many more. Essentially, you will be able to convert your site into a store. You no longer have to hire a programmer or software developer to do this.

With WooCommerce, you can integrate a payment system into your website seamlessly. There are many options, but the most commonly used is PayPal. The other payment processing systems that you can use will appear depending on where you are located.

Just take note that the payment system does not have the complexity that you see with sites like GG Bet. For websites like these, people can deposit, and the system will record their payments as if they have a “wallet.” You need a software developer to do this for you.

Grammarly

Once you have written content or after paying a freelance writer to do it for you, the next step is to ensure that your content is free of grammar errors at the basic level.

Grammarly is a free tool that will help you do this. All you have to do is to paste the article, and it will detect potential errors. It is up to you to correct them by clicking on the suggested spelling and grammar changes.

The tool also has anti-plagiarism software, but this is for Premium users only. It will tell you whether or not your article has a duplicate online. If it does, rewrite that part to make it more unique.

Google Trends

If you have an online business, you need to target the right keywords. Many SEO tools are expensive, so you are better off using a free one. In this case, your best bet is to use Google Trends.

This tool takes data from the Google universe. The way it works is that you type your keyword, and then it will show you the trend of the keyword. The trend is scored from 0 to 100, with 100 meaning that there is a demand for that keyword. So, if your keyword is ”roulettes casino online” and the trend score is 75, it means that there is a demand for it.

As an entrepreneur, there are some aspects of your business that you must spend money on, and there are some aspects where it is best to use free tools. Make sure that you understand your priorities and put your money where it is needed the most.
