Just Beyond Trailer Brings the R.L. Stine Anthology Series to Disney+

The official spooky season is here so let’s bring on all the shows and movies we can as we dive into October. Disney+ released the new trailer for the upcoming series Just Beyond from the world of R.L. Stine. The eight-episode series tells stories of a reality just beyond the one we know and we have a trailer to get excited about. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

All episodes of Just Beyond will start streaming Wednesday, October 13th as a part of Hallowstream on Disney+. Each episode will introduce a new cast of characters. These characters will go on a journey through a supernatural world of witches, aliens, ghosts and parallel universes. Sign me up I’m in!

Seth Grahame-Smith serves as writer and showrunner on Just Beyond, which was announced last year. The series, based on the BOOM! Studios graphic novels by R.L. Stine, is executive produced by Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg and Aaron Schmidt via KatzSmith Productions. David Walpert and Marc Webb also serve as executive producers alongside Ross Richie, Stephen Christy and Mark Ambrose of BOOM!. Stine is also listed as co-executive producer.

“I grew up watching The Twilight Zone reruns and the original Amazing Stories with my parents,” Grahame-Smith said in a statement when the project was first announced in May of 2020. “I’ve always wanted to make a genre anthology series that families could enjoy together, and do it in a way that delivered for kids and adults alike. R.L. Stine has been a part of millions of childhoods, and Disney+ has already proven itself as a place that knows how to make high-quality shows for the whole family. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with both of them.”

Back in the day, we had a ‘Goosebumps HorrorLand’ attraction at Walt Disney World,” added Stine, who is a co-executive producer. “It was one of the thrills of my life. Now I’m thrilled to be back with Disney for the TV series based on my graphic novels. Writing Just Beyond for BOOM! Studios has been a joy from the beginning, and I’m so happy to have the wonderful screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith bring the series to life on Disney+. How lucky can I be?”

With Disney still trying to maintain that family-friendly vibe while bringing in new content that pushes the format, this is a great addition to their lineup. And a nice show for the Halloween season. We don’t have any specifics on the episodes and so far not even the titles have been released. But we do know they are dropping all the episodes at once instead of the weekly format they have been doing with other shows. I can imagine we will see more of these shows or projects moving forward.

Make sure you tune in October 13th to Disney Plus to catch the premiere of Just Beyond. And enjoy something new for the horror holiday. Something the whole family can watch without sleeping with the lights on afterward. I mean maybe, anything is possible with these shows but I think this is a safe one.
