The Book of Boba Fett Will Answer Many Long-Standing Star Wars Questions

The Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison has revealed that fans can expect to see a lot of questions about the bounty hunter’s backstory answered.

With only weeks to go until The Book of Boba Fett makes its debut on Disney+, the expected marketing machine is kicking into action which means we can expect to see a number of cast interviews and show previews coming our way. With high expectations on The Mandalorian spin-off, Temuera Morrison has been discussing how the new addition to the Star Wars canon will delve deep into Fett’s backstory, answer some long-standing questions about the character and also fill in many gaps across the franchise. As we approach the series, there is still a lot of secrecy about the actual storyline, but it seems that as a final round of interviews begins, we will find out a little more before the premiere episode on December 29th.

With some of Fett’s history having been explained and then removed from canon in the past, leaving The Clone Wars as one of the few remaining pieces of Fett’s Star Wars backstory that are still intact, The Book of Boba Fett has a lot of ground to potentially cover, and in an interview will SFX Magazine, Morrison teased that fans will get a lot of answers from the series.

“There will definitely be a number of answers. Some long-winded answers. Some short and sharp answers. Some colorful answers. We’re filling a lot of gaps.”

Starring alongside Morrison’s Fett in the series is Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand, who was saved from death in the first season of The Mandalorian, and Wen explained the series will be expanding on their story. She said:

“In The Book of Boba Fett there will be a lot of exploration of the dynamics between Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, how they complement each other, and what they get out of that relationship. He’s someone she respects and they have definitely bonded with him saving her. It allowed her to realise that she might be better off not being solo anymore. She sees her alliance with Boba Fett as a very smart move, in the sense that she’ll have somebody watching her back. And even though it might be an extra baggage to have to align herself with someone else, the reward for her at the moment is greater. And you know, Boba died – or we thought he did – in the Sarlacc pit, so I think that both of them share those near-death experiences in common. They both have a vulnerability that they understand.”

The question of how Boba Fett survived the events of Return of the Jedi is probably one of the biggest questions that fans have had since the character made his unexpected return in The Mandalorian, along with what the bounty hunter has been doing in the five years that have passed since his assumed demise. We have already been given a teaser clip showing Fett healing in a bacta tank, which leads to the belief that the series could go back to the events of Return of the Jedi to relive Fett’s “final scenes” from his own point of view. Check out the latest trailer below ahead of the series premiere on December 29th on Disney+.
